Grace Lim (1967)

I was born in Malaysia and I began doodling when I was about three years old. When I was four or five, I wanted to create the tree, the sea, the bird or the little cabin with a chimney on the roof and with people living in it. When the doodle came out, I was very happy.

Creativity is my outlet for mitigating unspeakable weakness and elevating the vigorous passion and desire. Art speaks naturally to me rather than my having to make IT speaks. IT exists as alone as we are.

Now I realized that I can never make the tree, the sea or the bird, but with my aspiration and creativity, I can make them live in my world of art.
