My paintings are ruled by my three predominated
passions in life. These fervors make my life and
my work of art an enthralling adventure. I desired
joyfulness and its relationship to love and fascinated
by tenacious life-force of mankind and nature. Love
brings ecstasy and I would forgo anything for the
few moments of this joy. The unremitting obstinacy
of man to develop possibilities in life inspired
my creativity to pursue excellence, and always the
echoes of nature reverberating in my heart brought
me to peace and contentment.
I
consider these subject matters by way of my paintings;
I use oil and Chinese calligraphy ink to create the
occurrences of my life passions. Often with my customary
poetry writing which lauds the varying landscapes
found in nature, my paintings develop and evolve simultaneously
in rhythmic movement. I use minimal imagery and nominal
color choices to compose these moods and instigate
the composition of my very own abstract work of art
– echoing Barnette Newman’s well-known
statement about abstract expressionism, “We
are making it out of ourselves.”
In the future, I want to dwell deeper into these subjects,
particularly as it relates to the union of love in
which I’m longing and seeking. With equal drive,
I will further reveal mankind abyss of despair and
victory. My hope for my art is to alleviate human
struggle and pain in the hearts of man. I want to
look at what nature showed me, and to paint what my
heart feels with the fleeting color and light that
I always drawn upon.
